Orthodontic Treatment

    in Mexicali

If you have crooked teeth and/or a misaligned bite (an underbite or overbite), there are a variety of treatments that can help straighten teeth, including braces and retainers, custom-made, removable, or fixed tools that cover the outside of your teeth, and help keep them in position.

Braces are dental tools that help correct your teeth' problems, like crowding, crooked teeth, or teeth that are out of alignment. Many people get braces when they’re teenagers, but adults get them too. As you wear them, braces slowly straighten and align your teeth, so you have a normal bite. Some people get braces to adjust their smiles.
Can Anyone Get Braces?
Patients at any age can get traditional braces. We suggest that children have their first orthodontic consultation no later than 7 years old so that parents are informed on what is ahead. Patients often receive orthodontic treatment between 10-14 years old, while facial features are still growing and are more susceptible to straightening solutions. However, it is not uncommon for adults and even seniors to undergo orthodontic treatments.

Is There An Alternative to Metal Braces?
Yes. As a more discreet alternative to metal braces, our office offers Invisalign treatment. Invisalign is the use of clear, plastic aligners to slowly apply pressure to your teeth to straighten. Your dentist will mention this option to you if they think you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment.

How Long will I need to have braces?
This depends largely on the current condition of your smile. Orthodontic treatments can last as few as six months but may take three years or more to complete in our more severe cases.  When you receive an orthodontic treatment plan from our doctors, we will give you a time estimate for your treatment. You will also come to see us regularly throughout your treatment plan so that we can monitor your progress and provide a more accurate time estimate.
